1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using The Last Manual mobile application (the "App"), or by visiting our website at thelastmanual.com (the "Site"), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference. If you do not agree to these Terms in their entirety, you must not download, install, or use the App.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User," "you," or "your") and The Last Manual ("we," "us," or "our"). We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time at our sole discretion. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the App or Site following the posting of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of those changes.

If you are using the App on behalf of an organisation, you represent and warrant that you are authorised to bind that organisation to these Terms.

2. Description of the App

The Last Manual is a fully offline mobile survival encyclopedia and crisis reference tool designed for iOS and Android devices. The App provides educational content covering emergency preparedness, disaster survival, first aid, water sourcing and purification, fire-starting, food foraging and preservation, shelter construction, navigation, communication, and related topics.

The App also includes interactive tools (compass, timer, SOS flashlight, Morse code tool, clinometer, lux meter, barometric monitor, rationing calculator), offline topographic maps, an inventory expiry tracker, a Dead Man's Switch check-in feature, a Safety Burst GPS transmission feature, an encrypted local document vault, a peer-to-peer Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Direct mesh networking feature, and curated affiliate gear recommendations.

The App is intended solely as an educational and preparedness reference tool. All survival, medical, first aid, and safety content is provided for general informational and educational purposes only. It is not professional advice of any kind.

3. What the App Is Not

The Last Manual is explicitly NOT any of the following, and must not be used as such:

• !A substitute for calling emergency services (police, fire, ambulance, coastguard, mountain rescue, or any equivalent service)
• !A substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or emergency medical care
• !A substitute for certified first aid training, wilderness medicine courses, or professional survival instruction
• !A navigation device that can guarantee accurate positioning in all environments
• !A guaranteed communication tool — mesh networking, Safety Burst, and Dead Man's Switch features depend on device hardware and environmental conditions and may fail
• !A replacement for up-to-date official emergency guidance, government evacuation orders, or public safety instructions
• !A medical device as defined under any applicable law
• !Legal advice of any kind

Always consult qualified professionals and follow official guidance from authorised emergency management agencies in your jurisdiction.

4. License Grant

Subject to your full compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to download, install, and use a single copy of the App on a device that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes.

This licence does not include any right to: (a) sublicence the App to any third party; (b) use the App on behalf of any third party in a commercial context; (c) transfer the App or your rights under this licence to any other person; or (d) use the App in any way not expressly authorised by these Terms.

We and our licensors retain all intellectual property rights in the App, its content, software, design, text, graphics, and all other materials. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership rights to you.

5. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to, and you will not permit any third party to:

• ✕Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, modify, translate, or create derivative works based on the App or any portion thereof
• ✕Copy, reproduce, distribute, publish, transmit, sell, rent, lease, sublicence, or otherwise transfer the App or any content from the App to any third party
• ✕Remove, obscure, or alter any proprietary rights notices (including copyright and trademark notices) within the App
• ✕Use the App or its content for any commercial purpose without our prior written consent
• ✕Use the mesh networking feature to send false, misleading, harassing, threatening, or unlawful communications
• ✕Transmit false distress signals, false safety status information, or false emergency alerts using the Safety Burst or Dead Man's Switch features
• ✕Attempt to intercept, decode, or eavesdrop on mesh network communications between other users
• ✕Use the App in any manner that violates any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation
• ✕Use the App to store, transmit, or distribute illegal content of any kind
• ✕Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the App, its infrastructure, or any systems connected to it
• ✕Use automated scripts, bots, scrapers, or any other automated means to access or interact with the App
• ✕Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity in connection with the App

6. Medical, First Aid, and Safety Content Disclaimer

All medical, first aid, health, and safety content within the App — including but not limited to wound treatment, CPR procedures, childbirth guidance, toxicology information, medication dosages, burn treatment, and psychological crisis guidance — is compiled from publicly available educational sources and is provided strictly for general educational purposes.

This content: (a) has not been reviewed or validated by licensed medical professionals for your specific situation; (b) may be outdated, incomplete, or inaccurate; (c) may be dangerous if applied incorrectly or in situations for which it was not designed; (d) is not tailored to your individual medical history, physical condition, training level, or circumstances; and (e) is not a substitute for hands-on certified training.

We strongly recommend that all users undertake certified first aid training, wilderness medicine courses, and emergency preparedness training from qualified instructors. The App is a supplementary reference only and should never be your primary or sole source of emergency guidance.

We make no representation, warranty, or guarantee that following any guidance in the App will result in a safe or successful outcome. Survival situations are inherently unpredictable and unique. You assume all risk associated with applying any content from the App.

7. Safe-Zone Directory Disclaimer

The Safe-Zone Directory feature contains a pre-cached database of emergency shelters, government facilities, hospitals, and resource points. This data is compiled from publicly available sources and is cached to your device during initial setup or updates.

This data may be significantly outdated, incomplete, or inaccurate. Facilities may have closed, changed location, changed operating hours, reached capacity, or been destroyed. The App updates this database quarterly when an internet connection is available; however, we cannot guarantee the currency, completeness, or accuracy of any listing.

You must independently verify the status and availability of any facility before relying on it. We expressly disclaim all liability for any harm arising from reliance on Safe-Zone Directory data.

8. Dead Man's Switch and Safety Burst Disclaimers

Dead Man's Switch:The Dead Man's Switch feature sends an automated alert to your stored emergency contacts if you fail to check in within your configured time window. This feature: (a) is entirely opt-in and disabled by default; (b) depends on your device having a functional internet or cellular connection at the time the alert fires; (c) may fail to transmit due to network outages, device failures, software errors, or other conditions beyond our control; (d) is NOT a substitute for calling emergency services; and (e) may generate false alarms that cause unnecessary distress to your contacts. You are solely responsible for configuring this feature appropriately, informing your contacts about it, and disabling it when no longer needed.

Safety Burst: The Safety Burst feature transmits a small data packet containing your GPS coordinates, a safety status, and a timestamp to your stored emergency contacts when you activate it or when the app detects a brief signal window after activation. This feature: (a) is entirely opt-in; (b) may transmit inaccurate or imprecise GPS coordinates depending on your device and environment; (c) depends on network availability and may fail to transmit; (d) transmits data only to contacts you have explicitly stored in the App; and (e) is NOT a substitute for calling emergency services or using a dedicated personal locator beacon (PLB) or satellite communicator.

Sending false distress signals using these features may be illegal in your jurisdiction and is strictly prohibited under these Terms. You assume full legal and civil responsibility for all transmissions made using these features.

9. Mesh Networking Feature

The P2P mesh networking feature uses your device's Bluetooth and Wi-Fi Direct antennas to enable device-to-device communication without internet infrastructure. By enabling this feature, you acknowledge and agree that: (a) you are responsible for all messages and data you transmit via the mesh network; (b) while messages are encrypted in transit, no communication system is perfectly secure and we make no guarantees of absolute security; (c) effective range and reliability depend on device hardware, environment, and the density of other nearby App users; (d) the feature may fail entirely in adverse conditions; and (e) you will not use it for any illegal, harmful, or prohibited purpose.

10. Affiliate Links and Gear Recommendations

The App's Gear module and certain Library and Scenario sections contain links to products on third-party retailer websites including, but not limited to, Amazon. Some of these links are affiliate links. If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission from the retailer at no additional cost to you.

We are a participant in the Amazon Associates Programme, an affiliate advertising programme designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon. We may also participate in affiliate programmes with other survival and outdoor gear retailers.

Our gear recommendations are based on research, quality assessment, and suitability for survival scenarios. Affiliate commission rates do not influence our recommendations. Affiliate links are only active when you are connected to the internet and choose to tap them. The App is fully functional without ever using an affiliate link.

Third-party retailer websites are governed by their own terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content, practices, or policies of any third-party website.

11. Purchases and Refund Policy

The App is available as a one-time paid download through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Pricing is displayed at the time of purchase. All purchases are processed by Apple or Google (as applicable) under their respective payment terms and conditions.

The App may also offer optional in-app purchases for additional content packs. All in-app purchases are also processed by the relevant app store platform.

Refund Policy:Because the App is a digital product that is immediately accessible upon purchase, all sales are generally final. Refund eligibility is governed by the policies of the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, as applicable. We encourage you to review Apple's and Google's refund policies before purchasing. For technical issues that prevent use of the App, please contact us at support@thelastmanual.com and we will use reasonable efforts to resolve the issue or facilitate a refund through the relevant platform.

12. Intellectual Property

The App, including all of its content, features, functionality, software, text, graphics, illustrations, logos, patents, trademarks, service marks, copyrights, photographs, audio, videos, music, and trade secrets (collectively, "Intellectual Property"), is owned by or licensed to The Last Manual and is protected by copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws of Pakistan and applicable international conventions.

You are granted no right, title, or interest in any Intellectual Property beyond the limited licence expressly granted in Section 4 of these Terms. All rights not expressly granted are reserved. Any unauthorised use of our Intellectual Property is strictly prohibited and may result in civil or criminal liability.

If you believe that any content in the App infringes your intellectual property rights, please contact us at support@thelastmanual.com with a detailed description of the alleged infringement.

13. Disclaimer of Warranties

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE APP, THE SITE, AND ALL CONTENT, FEATURES, AND SERVICES PROVIDED THROUGH THEM ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE. WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: (A) IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT; (B) WARRANTIES ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING, USAGE, OR TRADE PRACTICE; (C) WARRANTIES THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS; (D) WARRANTIES REGARDING THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, CURRENCY, OR RELIABILITY OF ANY CONTENT; AND (E) WARRANTIES THAT THE APP WILL FUNCTION ON YOUR PARTICULAR DEVICE OR IN YOUR PARTICULAR ENVIRONMENT.

SURVIVAL, MEDICAL, AND SAFETY INFORMATION IS INHERENTLY SITUATIONAL. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ANY TECHNIQUE, METHOD, OR GUIDANCE DESCRIBED IN THE APP IS APPROPRIATE FOR YOUR SPECIFIC CIRCUMSTANCES, SAFE TO PERFORM WITHOUT PROFESSIONAL TRAINING, OR WILL RESULT IN A SUCCESSFUL OUTCOME.

14. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WE, OUR DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, PARTNERS, SUPPLIERS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: LOSS OF LIFE; PERSONAL INJURY; PROPERTY DAMAGE; LOSS OF DATA; LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, OR BUSINESS; LOSS OF GOODWILL; BUSINESS INTERRUPTION; COSTS OF SUBSTITUTE GOODS OR SERVICES; OR ANY OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES — EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES AND REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY (CONTRACT, TORT INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE, STRICT LIABILITY, OR OTHERWISE).

THIS LIMITATION OF LIABILITY APPLIES SPECIFICALLY AND WITHOUT LIMITATION TO: INJURY OR DEATH RESULTING FROM FOLLOWING APP CONTENT; FAILURE OF THE MESH NETWORK, DEAD MAN'S SWITCH, SAFETY BURST, OR ANY OTHER COMMUNICATION FEATURE; INACCURATE OR OUTDATED SAFE-ZONE DIRECTORY DATA; INACCURATE GPS POSITIONING; AND ANY RELIANCE ON MEDICAL, FIRST AID, OR SAFETY CONTENT WITHIN THE APP.

OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (A) THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM; OR (B) ONE HUNDRED PAKISTANI RUPEES (PKR 100).

SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES OR LIABILITY FOR CERTAIN TYPES OF DAMAGES. IN SUCH JURISDICTIONS, OUR LIABILITY WILL BE LIMITED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS SHALL LIMIT OR EXCLUDE LIABILITY FOR FRAUD, FRAUDULENT MISREPRESENTATION, OR ANY OTHER LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE EXCLUDED OR LIMITED BY LAW.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless The Last Manual, its directors, officers, employees, agents, licensors, suppliers, and successors from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or relating to: (a) your use of or inability to use the App; (b) your breach of these Terms; (c) your violation of any applicable law or regulation; (d) your infringement of any third-party rights; (e) any content you transmit via the mesh networking feature; (f) any misuse of the Dead Man's Switch or Safety Burst features; or (g) any reliance you place on the content of the App.

We reserve the right to assume exclusive control of any matter subject to indemnification by you, in which event you will cooperate with us in asserting any available defences.

16. Third-Party Services and Links

The App may contain links to third-party websites, products, or services (including affiliate retailer sites). These third-party sites are not under our control, and we are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or terms. A link to a third-party site does not constitute our endorsement of that site or its products. You access third-party sites at your own risk and subject to their own terms.

Offline map data, if provided through third-party map tile providers, is subject to those providers' respective licences. We do not warrant the accuracy or completeness of any map data.

17. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your licence to use the App at any time, with or without cause or notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Sections 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19, and 20 of these Terms survive termination.

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. Deletion of the App removes all locally stored user data from your device; we do not retain any of your data.

18. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts located in Pakistan. You irrevocably submit to the personal jurisdiction of such courts for this purpose.

If any provision of these Terms is held by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

19. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. We will indicate the date of the most recent revision at the top of this page. For material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users through the App or website. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes.

We encourage you to review these Terms periodically. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the App.
